My old site was done in ASP.NET 1.x. To say it was outdated is a bit of an understatement. So I decided to simply tear it down and start over.
This new site is done using ASP.NET MVC5 and the new ASPNET Identity 2.0 membership mechanism. Currently, it is pretty much straight out of the box. I'll be upgrading the look and feel over the weekends, and adding back some of the useful stuff that was in my old site.
Why the "space" theme? Basically, I'm fascinated by space (and biology and philosopy), as well as coding. I wanted the site to have the look and feel of one of the sites that had a large picture background, and sort of "floating" text.
Blogs I read and/or edit are:
I'm using Visual Studio 2017 Community for this site. I'm using the standard Bootstrap theme that comes with the standard MVC5 template. I have just a few overrides at the moment. I'm also using a Google Fonts font, "Raleway" for the body font. I like non-serif fonts, and this one seemed very "clean" to me.
